Office Sign Company - 2019 Governor Awards for the Arts Recipient

 Governor’s Awards for the Arts

We are humbled and honored to be receiving the 2019 Governor’s Awards for the Arts! Out of 26 nominations, six recipients are acknowledged in different categories, and Office Sign Company was recognized in the Private Business category. This was in part because of our sponsorship towards the art community and support for local artists, and especially because of our CEO’s faithful investment in the arts.

The Governor’s Awards for the Arts is presented through North Dakota Council on the Arts (NDCA) as a way to “recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the arts throughout the state,” according to NDCA.
“Recipients are chosen for their efforts to expand arts opportunities to new audiences, create an appreciation for North Dakota’s cultural heritage, and make the arts more central to education and an integral part of community life as well as on their length of service within the state. The nomination categories are Arts in Education, Arts Organization, Cultural Treasure (new this year), Individual Achievement, and Private Business. Awards are given to the top candidates, regardless of the category they represent.
We are proud to be representing the vibrant city of Fargo at the upcoming award ceremony. This city and our  talented, dedicated arts community has allowed us the opportunity to facilitate amazing projects. All of the art shown below was produced in-house and installed by our staff! Visit our "Custom Signage" link if you have a project in mind, and we will get you a quote and proof in no time.

Of course, we have our incredible non-profit and for-profit businesses to thank for giving us the opportunity to continually support the arts. We encourage our artful community (such as Creative Plains FoundationThe Arts PartnershipPlains Art MuseumRourke Art MuseumFM Choral Artists, and Studio Crawl to name a few) through sponsorships in order to keep the art in our community acknowledged and appreciated, and to help paint our city a little brighter.

Our relationship with local artists has grown into partnerships and friendships, and we actually sell their original photography on our sister site, FargoStuff, on a variety of substrates. We always enjoy acting as a vendor for our artists in order to display their work. Even our staff is made up individuals with arts degrees! They set expectations high in order to provide an amazing product to our customers, and they deliver.

Above all, our CEO Ryan Fritz has worked to establish the importance of the arts in our small, private business. He’s spent time as
Artist in Resident at our local West Acres Mall; he involves himself in art programs and classes, specifically under the guidance of Marjorie Schlossman. And, he supports up-and-coming artists and designers such as “Hello Cereal” through investment opportunities.
